What Inspired Me Today...July 29, 2013

What inspires you?

Well...yesterday this is what inspired me.

Yes, a glass of lemonade.  I don't know why, do we even know why something inspires us the way it does?  Usually I would have just drank my lemonade and went on with my day, but yesterday I decided that I wanted to do something with that inspiration.  So  I created this:

I love how bright and cheery this card turned out!  I knew starting out I would be using the lemonade2drink stamp set from The Stamps of Life. Its my first time using this set and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

These are the supplies that I used excluding adhesives of course.

After stamping out the glass and lemons using Dew Drop Brilliance Sunflower Yellow ink and cutting them out I ran some Tombo Mono Multi glue around the edges of the lemons and added a bright yellow glitter mix.  (I love how it turned out)

I stamped the ice cubes into the glass with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with some Whispers Clear Gloss embossing powder.  After everything dried I used my ATG gun to stick down the lemons in the glass, cut a slit in the top of the glass and hung the lemon on the side of the glass.

I cut another small slit on the other side of the glass and after cutting down the straw to about 2" and cutting the back off I slid the straw in and taped it on the back of the glass.

I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray in teal and Dylusions Bubblegum Pink Ink Spray to crate the background.  I cut the bright yellow card stock for the base at 5 1/2" X 5" and cute the background 1/8" smaller.  I used foam tape under the glass to give the card some additional dimension and stamped "Sour" You? from the lemonade2drink stamp set in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Recollections Ebony embossing powder.

PS The lemonade was delicious!
